Asian American Federation:
I’m Really From
During the height of Covid-19 and the various assaults on Asian American humans around the nation, we raised funds and awareness for Asian American Federation’s critical safety programs in AAPI communities. We flipped the script on a xenophobic question many people of color—especially Asian Americans—dread: “Where are you really from?” In partnership with Asian & Asian American illustrators, we created ten vibrant travel posters of US cities that stood for belonging—visually asserting where Asian Americans really call home through the stories of Olympian Apolo Ohno, hate crime survivor Noel Quintana, fashion icon Eva Chen, and more.
Interviews with members of the Asian American community inspired the inclusion of unique personal and cultural details in each poster. The breadth of landmarks, local businesses, comfort meals, family members, celebrations, memories, and traditions that fill each poster celebrate the vibrant diversity that make up our cities.
